If you need help with spay/neuter or trap-neuter-return (TNR) in Alameda, Oakland, or San Leandro, please complete the form below. We prioritize unowned “community” cats over owned pet cats.

Due to very high demand, we cannot assist with requests from other cities.

Spay/Neuter Costs: We pay $150-$250 per cat for spay/neuter surgery, so we request a donation to help defray our costs and ensure we can continue to offer assistance to the community.

Please note: ICRA has a very limited number of spay/neuter appointments available each month, and wait times for appointments are now three months or more. If you are able, we encourage you to organise your own spay/neuter appointments; you will probably be able to get cats fixed sooner than you would be able to through ICRA.

Establishing a feeding routine is vital for successfully trapping community cats.

Drop off is generally first thing in the morning and pick up in the late afternoon, but it varies clinic to clinic. You should plan to have the cat trapped by 9pm the night before surgery.

Do you have a safe place to keep the cats in their traps overnight before surgery and afterward for recovery?*

A garage, shed, or any small room that can be closed off will do. Outside areas are OK if they are protected from the elements and from wildlife like raccoons. Cats will stay in their traps and you will not need to interact with them in any way.
