As you can see by this sweet guy's photos, Handsome Ransom (HR) loves to be close to his people — whether on your chest with his head tucked under your chin or on your lap.  Be prepared for a lot of love from this wonderful companion kitty.  HR is a talker, assertive, social, affectionate, easy-going and did I mention that he's a lap cat? This charismatic fella also loves a good box to explore and interactive toys… who said middle-age makes one less curious or active. HR would do fine with kids (of any cage) who have had cats in their lives before and/or a calm, cat-friendly dog but he would prefer to be the only cat because… yep, he is a serious lap hog.  HR lived a tough life before coming to Island Cat.  He has a bullet in his left hind leg behind his knee that is an incidental finding and unlikely to cause any problems.  HR also is hyperthyroid and has suspected inflammatory bowel disease, however, both are currently managed with medications and a restricted (non-Rx) diet.  He is doing very well since his rescue in the summer of 2019.  While he loves his foster family, he eagerly awaits a permanent home that he can call his own.  We estimate HR was born around 2010.  Check out his video here
