A special cat for special human/s!
Panda Cat has undergone a total transformation from growly feral to indoor cuddle-bug. His foster humans brought him in off the streets to treat a precancerous ear. It took more than a year for Panda to consent to human touch. Now he loves nothing more than a warm lap and snuggle time! Panda has luxuriously soft fur, impressive whiskers, and a distinctive curl at the tip of his tail. He has some puppy-like qualities: follows humans around, sits at their feet, and begs for table scraps. He’s fond of chasing toy mice and balls and will shower you with affectionate head butts once he knows and trusts you.
Panda requires an experienced, patient caretaker who understands he’ll need time to acclimate to new people, routines, and spaces. He’s friendly, curious, chatty, and sweet-as-pie once he trusts you, but sudden movements and noises will still startle him. He’d love a calm family with a regular, predictable routine and lots of quality time available to spend with him. Humans who work from home or are retired might be an especially good match. He could do well with older, gentle children in the home, but probably isn't a good fit for the younger crowd.
Panda needs to live exclusively indoors and stick to his special diet to maintain his good health (although he’s quite omnivorous and likes to snack on things like chickpeas, carrots, and kale). Panda is not a fan of nail-trims or vet visits and needs extra TLC at those times. No dogs in the home, please–they frighten him.
Panda’s foster family thinks the world of him and wants to be sure his adoptive family will love him just as much. Is there room in your heart for a Panda cat? We can tell you more about him. We estimate he was born in 2016. Bio# JB019
