Blossom Update: Recovering from Surgery

Blossom the blind kitten finally had surgery this week to remove her ruptured eyes. The first day or so of recovery was tough, but she has adjusted well to the e-collar, and she gets breaks from it as long as she doesn’t rub her eyes.

Blossom is a wonderful, people-oriented kitten, and she was happy to be distracted with several toys during our photo shoot. Blind cats are pretty amazing. They get around just fine once they have thoroughly explored their environment. Their whiskers help them avoid obstacles, and they can even chase bugs and toys using their excellent hearing. ICRA has several blind alums who are the delight of their adopters.

Once her eyes have healed up, she’ll be looking for a home with her pal Arya.
